So, You Want To Know The Addresses Of Gun Owners?

Some of you may be asking why you are right here. Not necessarily on this page, but on this site. Where did CTTPOLITICS go, you might ask? Well, you may not even ask but if you do there is a simple explanation I would like to give before going into what I want to write about. For two years I have run a website and sometimes it is good times and sometimes it is the worst times I could have ever had! All I want to do is write, and frankly everything I did for over $100 a year can be done for free right here, for the most part. So bookmark this new site because after the end of January, the regular site you are used to will be gone!

Now, to the important stuff that we all want to know about. As you all may or may not have heard, there was a newspaper in NY that decided they would pull a fast one and print the names and addresses of those who have legal weapons. This may not seem so bad to some of you, but for the rest of us we see the danger in this. There may be a police officer or even a prison guard that is on the list that needs to keep their information secure. Just because someone owns a weapon legally does not give others the right to print their names where ever they feel like it. Or wait....maybe it does!

The laws in NY and many other states are very bad when it comes to this. Many states allow these names to be put out there for others to see, no matter what the consequences of that might be. After the shooting in Newtown, the fight for more gun control has been more fierce than it has been in many years. Those who own legal weapons, especially rifles, are looked at differently today by some in our society because there is a segment of the population who does not believe you should be able to own a weapon like that. Even though our Second Amendment gives you that right, there are those out there that would take it away from you in a heartbeat because of THEIR opinion.

It is almost funny if you think about it. The fight is coming from the Left, the same people who tell us that privacy is good in certain circumstances but apparently not in this one. Try to post the names and addresses of women who get an abortion and see what happens! The argument there is that those are medical records and could harm the individual, but how does THIS not harm the individual?

This newspaper gave out information they know they should not have given out, and in the days after they received many phone calls and letters from people who were not pleased. You know what they did? Because they got letters, none of them that the police found threatening, they hired a SECURITY team to keep them safe in the workplace! So, apparently, it is fine for them to protect themselves but everyone else should not. As we know through the years, this is a common theme with the Left. They never seem to want to play by the rules they set, and when they do not set them they make sure they change them and even then do not want to play by them.

The fact is that while the paper MAY have had the legal right to print what they did, it was not ethical. What they did could get someone hurt or even killed and if that happens the blame is going to fall on the paper. There are politicians that want to make a public registry of those who own legal firearms. I would suggest a registry of criminals with firearms but that might be a little difficult since most of those weapons are ILLEGAL weapons, obtained illegally, and used for illegal purposes. Somehow that is fine but those who want to protect themselves from those who have illegal weapons and want to break the law is wrong.

This is the America that we live in today everyone! You are told to do one thing while everyone else does another. We are not supposed to ask questions, but just follow the leader. If we ask questions we are racists, bigots, or not patriotic. If we want to own a rifle we are terrorists! If we have a weapon we deserve to be on a list like they put child predators on! This is America today, and if we do not change is soon it may be too late.

In the coming months there will be a fight to change the gun laws in this country to where everyone who owns a weapon will be put on some kind of federal registry. We will be checked out more than a 50 year old going to his prostate exam before we are allowed to even buy a gun! This seems to be fine for those who are fighting for it, and also those who love it when people are unarmed so they can take advantage of them.

Just a little food for thought: There are more attacks by HAMMERS in this country than rifles, according to the FBI! So, after the fight on guns, I guess we will have to fight for our hammers as well!
